Job Title: Associate Buyer

Position Summary:

The Associate Buyer is responsible for execution of aspects of purchasing process to support organizational operations efficiently and cost-effectively. The ideal candidate will also be very dependable, punctual, helpful, kind and extremely patient. Our associates need to be personable, expect to get to know some customers on a first name basis and are always willing to go the extra mile to create an excellent experience for every customer.

 

Job Summary:

  • Work with field personnel regarding their specific needs (tools & supplies, product specifications, etc.) — research required product or service, as applicable. Subsequently provide a solution for the regional location in question.
  • Create and evaluate RFPs / 3-Bid system. Subsequently, coordinate the results and recommendation with the appropriate Procurement Services sourcing team member to determine appropriate next steps.
  • Evaluate price files, working collaboratively with Procurement Services Analyst, Sourcing Specialist or Sourcing Leader. Identify gaps as well as areas of opportunity. Coordinate findings with the appropriate Procurement Services sourcing team member.
  • Interact with suppliers and regional locations regarding pricing, deliverables / fulfillment, etc.
  • Responsible for the implementation of sourcing programs to meet companywide requirements.
  • Work with Supply Chain Analyst to gather multiple data sources for creating suppliers KPI dashboards and scorecards.
  • Manage day to day logistics, inventory, and workflow process, including shipment issues.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Accounting/Finance preferred, with one (1) to three (3) years’ relevant Procurement/Supply Chain experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and performance in the fundamental skills, techniques, and procedures required for this position.
  • Organization: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, keeping track of tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Initiative: Approach tasks in creative ways; find thoughtful solutions, exhibit sense of ownership.
  • Communication: Possess professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Business Relations: Ability to interface with a variety of internal and external partners to support business initiatives.
  • Technology: Possess proficiency with Office365. Ability and willingness to learn and support various systems.
  • Flexibility: Capability to adjust current tasks and schedule to updated priorities, as identified by Procurement Services sourcing team member or management.
  • Collaboration: A team player, capable of working well with others, but also independently with direction.
